TX TWINCREEKS BUTTERFLY DANCE

TX TWINCREEKS BUTTERFLY DANCE (MCH Pecan Hollow Willy's Dance Fever*S x MCH/CH Twin Creeks WB Madame Butterfly "VG")--DOB: 4/06--This spoiled little girl is just as beautiful as her dam, a doe that we have long admired from afar. Being so spoiled, Butterfly absolutely refused to stand nicely for her yearling photo, hence the "stretch"! In addition to her personality, we love Butterfly's dairy qualities--see her fine boning and the loose folds of skin--and escutcheon width.

We love this doe! The pedigree borne by Butterfly Dance--with her dual-championed dam, Madame Butterfly, being the last daughter of the famed Twink's Pixie-- is impressive, and we consider ourselves very blessed to have had the opportunity to purchase her. Other than her strident voice and spoiled, affectionate nature, what is most pronounced about our Butterfly is her dairy character. She is a long-boned doe showing levelness and length of body, width front and back, huge well-placed teats, and tons of loose, fine skin. And, when she's not screaming demands, Butterfly also carries herself with an elegant bearing worthy of her genetics.

We were very pleased with Butterfly's first freshening--lovely twin girls and a very capacious udder, widely attached all over, high in the rear, smooth in the fore, with good-sized, easily-milked plumb teats. However, with her second freshening, Butterfly really outdid herself--triplet does and an even better udder (see the photos above.) And, 2010 brought another set of triplet girls...What a doe!!!

With the passage of years, Butterfly continues to be an all-around favorite: an easy kidder (another set of triplets in 2011), a willing milker whose udder remains well-attached after multiple freshenings, and an easy-going loving animal who passes her friendly personality on to all her kids. We consider Butterfly to be one of the cornerstones of our breeding program and she will never leave!

2012 BREEDING PLANS: Butterfly has been paired with our up-and-coming Water Tabby son, Mohawk
.  Butterfly always produces beautiful daughters, and her kids sired by both of our Rosasharn bucks, Water Tabby+*S and TL Curry*S, have been very promising. We anticipate some really special kids this time too.

LOST VALLEY TB CHECOTAH

LOST VALLEY TB CHECOTAH--DOB: 8/06--Due to the vagaries of winter weather and shipping, we had to wait a bit for Checotah, who was reserved prior to her birth. She was well worth the wait, as can be seen by her yearling photo. Checotah's pedigree is full of successful show animals and productive milkers and also contains many of the lines we have been working with for several years. Checotah's style, correct conformation, and wide escutcheon earned her recognition in the show ring as a junior, where she placed first and second in large classes. Photo at Age One Year.

KIDDING HISTORY
2009--Twins: Doe/Buck (Rosasharn Tom's Water Tabby*S)--Both Retained: Dawnland Tabby's Seneca and Dawnland Tabby's Mohawk
2010--Twins: Doe/Buck (TX Twincreeks CAS Patronus*S*B)--Doe Retained: Dawnland TCP Penobscot
2011--Twins: Doe/Buck (Rosasharn Tom's Water Tabby*S)

Checotah is the product of the pairing of two of Lost Valley's most stellar animals, and we think she has it all: pedigree, good looks, and breeding potential (her littermate brother, Seminole, at Twin Creeks is siring beautiful kids!) Checotah's dam is a very productive milker who has six Best Udder awards to her credit, as well as eight GCH's, and her sire is similarly blessed with both show wins and high-milking female forebears AND daughters. Many of Checotah's ancestors are closely related to our Rosasharn Tom's Water Tabby*S lines, so it will be interesting to see how both she and her offspring cross with our genetics.

Checotah's first freshening produced buck/doe twins--clones of her and their sire, Rosasharn Tom's Water Tabby*S--as well as an udder that matched that of her dam. Checotah also proved to be an easy (once broken to the milk stand!) milker and productive too: four pounds daily to start. 2010's second freshening brought a repeat of very nice buck/doe twins (sired by TX Twincreeks CAS Patronus*S*B) and more capacity; Checotah is milking between four and five pounds. She continued the twin trend, along with a well-sustained production pattern, for her third freshening in 2011... Another doe we consider to be one of the cornerstones of our breeding program.

2012 BREEDING PLANS: Checotah has been bred to Rosasharn TL Curry*S, our Tiger L/UMT Wasabi 5*D 4*M AR "VG" son. Based on what we have seen so far with both animal's progeny, we expect a pairing with Curry to be promising in terms of kid potential--especially with regards to dairy character, length of body, refinement, and milk production.

 TX TWINCREEKS CAS ENCHANTRESS

Junior Photo at Age One Year Plus
Tessie at Age Four Years, Pictured Milked-Out. No two ways about it, but Tessie is a tank! However, she puts every ounce of her tremendous body and udder capacity into milk, earning her a spot as one of our top three 2010 milkers (as a first freshener!) Despite a very erratic milking schedule, Tessie's production started at four pounds and presently--five months into her lactation--with once daily milking, she is producing two pounds minimum.

KIDDING HISTORY
2010--Twin Bucks (Rosasharn Tom's Water Tabby*S)
2011--Quadruplet Bucks (Chenango-Hills Buffalo Sauce*S*B)

Tessie was our most pleasant surprise among the 2010 first fresheners here, and we are extremely happy with both her udder--tons of capacity, attached everywhere and not moving a bit, fat plumb teats that literally spray out milk--and her milk production, which started at four pounds. When Tessie first kidded, in our haste to keep milking numbers reasonable, we sold her, thinking that her height and breadth of rear udder were not show-worthy. Luckily, Tessie protested so much at the move, crying and refusing to eat for three days straight, that she came back in short order, allowing us to appreciate what we had failed to see the first time around. Possessing both a quality udder and the potential to be one of our top volume milkers, Tessie has a great deal to offer our breeding program and, true to our predictions, has ended up being one of our highest 2011 producers!

2012 KIDDING PLANS:
Tessie has been
paired with Top Ten production buck, Castle Rock Purple Haze*S, son of SGH Algedi Farm H Purple Rain 4*D 2010 LA VVEE FS90/2011 LA VEEV FS90. Tessie is one of our most productive milkers, producing a good quantity consistently over a long period, and we expect that her genetics combined with Haze's should result in high milk potential for this kid crop. Hopefully, the buck-only kid trend will end and we'll be able to retain a doe in 2012.

PIDDLIN ACRES W ROSEMARY

PIDDLIN ACRES W ROSEMARY--DOB: 2/07--Rosemary is maturing into a wide and powerful doe, with exceptional body capacity. She shows nice dairy character too, with tons of loose, soft skin, flat ribbing, and smooth blending, all of which the judges commented on during her limited showing. She earned two first place honours in her first three shows as a junior! We are expecting great mammary and milk potential in the future too, since her sire's dam, ARMCH/GCH Sugar Creek's SS Silhouette 6*D "E", was recognized in 2006 as ANDDA's first place Total Performer, as well as the AGS All Time Breed Leader for Production on One Day Testing. Rosemary is another sweet bottle baby who is always ready to demand--and return--love. Photo at 18 Months.

SHOWING
Junior: 1st x 2
Senior: 1st x 1 (7/09 Judge Paul Kempe Jr.)

Rosemary has a pedigree absolutely LOADED WITH MILK!!! Her sire's dam, ARMCH Sugar Creek's Silhouette 6*D "E", holds the AGS record for milk volume on One Day Testing: 6.8 pounds (2006 lactation, second freshening) and actually surpassed that amount in 2007 by milking 6.9 pounds as a third freshener. Silhouette has also done well with 305-Day DHIR, milking 1141 pounds as a second freshener in 2006. Rosemary's maternal lines likewise show excellence in milk production. Rosemary's maternal granddam, Piddlin Acres Pandora's Box 2*D AR "VG", scored in the 2004 AGS Top Ten for 305-Day Testing, with a #9 placing for milk volume, a #6 placing for butterfat, and a #5 placing for protein--milking 985 pounds in 296 days. We hope that Rosemary will realize the potential of her pedigree and also be a record-breaking milker in the future.

We could wax eloquent about Rosemary's udder and we will; she was our favorite doe to milk in 2009, with a butter-soft udder and teats like faucets. Great production too: four pounds daily, matching her herdmate Checotah above. With her 2010 second freshening, we determined that Rosemary is probably our best all-around doe and that we really lucked out with her purchase! Rosemary epitomizes what we want to see in our girls: easy kidding, a placid temperament, tons of body and udder capacity, a will to milk, and an udder that is well-attached and productive.

2012 KIDDING PLANS: Rosemary has been bred for June kids; her service sire is Painted Pepper RJ Soleil*S*B, the son of our overall best Water Tabby daughter, SG Zing*D 1*M AR. Zing has a lovely udder, huge teats, and excellent dairy character so...we think that this is a match made in heaven. We certainly expect excellent milk potential and dairy conformation in the kids.

DAWNLAND TABBY'S MORNING GLORY

DAWNLAND TABBY'S MORNING GLORY, known as "Diva", (Rosasharn Tom's Water Tabby*S x Sandy Hollow UK Sweetpea)--DOB: 4/07--pictured at four months. We just love this girl for her flamboyance and friendliness. Her personality makes her shine wherever she goes, including the show ring where--during her very first show--she earned a first in her class of over 20+ doelings (Judge Jeff Klein.) We hope for further successes in the ring, and eventually in the milk pail too, since Diva carries the very productive ARMCH Rosasharn's Uni genetics in her pedigree.
Baby Escutcheon Photo. We never got around to photographing Diva's first udder, which pleased us greatly: very tightly attached, globular, strong medial, smooth fore, and plumb teats with good-sized orifices for milking. As a first freshener, she was a steady three-pounder from the start of her lactation.

KIDDING HISTORY
2010--Triplet Does (Chenango-Hills Buffalo Sauce*S*B)
2011--Open

Morning Glory has never known her registered name, being called by and responding to "Diva Ding-Ding" since her birth. (Her unusual nickname was quickly chosen for her because it so closely echoes her ditzy personality!) Diva is a beautiful junior and is very typical of all of our Tabby daughters: long-bodied with lots of dairiness and refinement. She also has nice width to her, both in the brisket area and between the hocks. Her general appearance was one reason for Diva's repeat 2007 breeding; we loved her 2006 siblings but sold both.

Diva has a pedigree that is based on some of the best of Rosasharn, combining her sire Tabby's AGS National Champion lines--both his sire and dam were National Champs--with the award-winning production lines of ARMCH Rosasharn Uni 3*D "E". Both sides of Diva's maternal pedigree feature exceptional milkers and show animals, with her great-granddam, Uni, holding the top ND score for 305 Day Milk Testing in 2002, 2003, and 2004. Diva's maternal granddam, Goodwood KW Slinky 2*D AR, placed #8 for high score and #9 for high milk in the 2004 Top Ten One Day Test Awards and earned her AR as a five year old, milking 647 pounds in 180 days. Her top production was 6.2 pounds, at less than a month fresh, in 2004. And, Diva's maternal great-granddam, Goodwood Q Damselfly*D, is also going strong in her golden years (!), milking 4.6 pounds at eight years old to earn her star.

Diva first freshened as a three year old in 2010: an easy birth with beautiful triplet doelings. Her udder and production pleased us too. Diva's mammary showed strong attachments and capacity, and she was an willing milker of three pounds daily.

2012 BREEDING PLANS: Diva has been bred to a young buck that we have been very excited to add to our 2012 line-up of boys:
Top Ten production buck, Castle Rock Purple Haze*S, son of SGH Algedi Farm H Purple Rain 4*D 2010 LA VVEE FS90/2011 LA VEEV FS90. Their pairing linebreeds on Rosasharn milk production lines and we anticipate some heavy-milking daughters coming out of this tryst.

KIDDING HISTORY
2010--Triplets: Doe/2 Bucks (TX Twincreeks SEM Blackberry*S*B)
2011--Triplets: 2 Does/Buck (NC PromisedLand RC Stormy*S*B)--Retained: Dawnland Stormy's Lyrica

Linebred on the cross of AGS National Champions ARMCH Goodwood Tom Thumb+*S "E" and ARMCH Goodwood Water Lilly 2*D "VG", Vocalise is a long, level, refined, and very angular doe--just beautiful, and totally in keeping with her pedigree appearance-wise. Her dam's udder, which was extremely competitive as a 2008 first freshener, keeps getting better and better with each freshening: high and wide in the rear; laterals at nine and three; and large, plumb, easily-milked teats.

Vocalise freshened with triplets and
a Rosasharn's Tiger L-type udder, just perfect for a first freshener and very much like her dam's first udder, well-attached, milking down to nothing, and productive: three pounds a day. We are very pleased overall with Vocalise and look forward to seeing what further maturity will bring in terms of body capacity and production.

2012 BREEDING PLANS: Vocalise has been bred to Fairlea Arsene Lupin*S, a recent returnee to our farm. Arsene is an ARMCH Fairlea Fleur 3*D 3*M "E" son, sired by MCH Twin Creeks WB Firestorm+*S "E". This pairing provides a nice match of Texas lines from Artie's sire and Lise's dam and there's lots of milk as well. Artie has also passed on capacity and large teats to his daughters, something we hope to see here too.

DAWNLAND CURRY'S EROICA

 EROICA HAS RETURNED HOME...

Twin to Vocalise (profiled above), Eroica is almost a carbon copy of her sister, in colour (a bit less splashy white) and conformation. Udder photos are at 5 months second freshening with once a day milking. We are very pleased with Ro's smooth fore, globular udder shape, tight attachments, and capacity.

KIDDING HISTORY
2010--Twins: Doe/ Buck
2011--Quadruplets: 2 Does/2 Bucks

Having been sold as a yearling, Eroica recently returned to us as a second freshening three year old. Since we consider Eroica's "Butterfly lines" to be some of our most promising, we are absolutely thrilled to welcome her back into the herd. She is linebred on the cross of AGS National Champions ARMCH Goodwood Tom Thumb+*S "E" and ARMCH Goodwood Water Lilly 2*D "VG",  and her general appearance is very reflective of those genetics. A carbon copy of her twin Vocalise--who is profiled above--Eroica is also long, level, refined, and angular.. Her dam's udder, which was extremely competitive as a 2008 first freshener, keeps getting better and better with each freshening: high and wide in the rear; laterals at nine and three; and large, plumb, easily-milked teats. We see only good things for this doe's future!

2012 BREEDING PLANS: Eroica will be bred to Top Ten production buck, Castle Rock Purple Haze*S, son of SGH Algedi Farm H Purple Rain 4*D 2010 LA VVEE FS90/2011 LA VEEV FS90,
for a Rosasharn-based linebreeding through Haze's maternal lines and Eroica's paternal lines. This breeding also picks up in-common Texas lines through the genetics of MCH/CH Pecan Hollow Willy's Dance Fever*S (ADGA 2007 LA-91, EEE.) Haze is a very dairy buck, sharp and uphill, and we expect some refined, high producing kids from this match.
