Unimaginatively dubbed "Brownie" by the human kids, we probably should have named her "Truffle"--given her sweet nature, chocolate colouring, and small, rotund shape. Brownie was purchased because of the strengths of her pedigree: both topside and lower contain Nigerian lines very consistent for quality mammaries. Her sire, Rebel, a Gay-Mor's JJU Nonpareil 4*D 1*M "E" son, has waved a magic wand at Poppy Patch with all of his daughters showing incredible udders with exceptionally strong medials. Brownie's dam is full sister to CH Betty Boop, also at Poppy Patch--who has two first freshened daughters by Rebel--again with show-worthy udders... So, we expect future greatness from our chocolate bombshell too!

2011 BREEDING PLANS: Brownie was not bred for 2011 and her planned service sire, Rosasharn TL Curry*S, will be used for 2012 kids. A similar genetic combo has been very successful in producing quality offspring at Algedi Farm on the West Coast.

Seneca might just be the all-around 2009 "Barn Favorite" here as everyone--family, friends, and farm visitors--manages to be taken with her spoiled, sweet nature and splashy colours. She's a small doe, in keeping with both of her parents, but very definitely another Tabby daughter, in terms of her dairiness and general conformation--being long and level. Her depth of pedigree speaks for itself: three grandparents who have earned AGS National Champion status, with both paternal and maternal grandmothers showing exceptional milk production figures of 1100 pounds+! Additionally, her dam--as a 2009 three year old first freshener--milked four pounds from the start of her lactation and has a beautiful udder that is even more capacious her second time around. On the basis of these strengths, we have retained Seneca's littermate twin brother too. Good things for sure in the future...

2011 BREEDING PLANS:
Seneca has been bred to our Top Ten production buck, Chenango-Hills Buffalo Sauce*S*B, for a Rosasharn-based linebreeding emphasizing production and dairy character.
