DD: Stonewall's Dizzy Miss Lizzie
(Stonewall's JH Morgan x Willows Avalanche)

Danay has an incredible pedigree to match her good looks! Her dam is a beautiful Raising Arizona daughter whose udder has been HES-scored as excellent. Danay's sire comes from some of the best that Rosasharn has to offer: ARMCH Goodwood Tom Thumb+*S "E" and ARMCH Goodwood Water Lilly*D "E", both AGS National Champions, are his parents. So, we are understandably excited about Danay's future in both the milk pail and in the show ring.
2009 BREEDING PLANS: Danay remained open in 2008 and will be a "very old" first freshener in 2009. She's one of our all-time favorite does and we have spent months hemming and hawing about who to breed her to...Service sire to be Piddlin Acres PM Bootstraps for a linebreeding on Kingwood++*S genetics. Bootstraps is also a long and elegant buck who should mesh well with the power of Danay's Stonewall Farm lines.

| LOST VALLEY BW POP TART (MCH Twin Creeks BH Bay Watch++*S x Lost Valley KW Hollywood 3*D)--DOB: 2/06--A very special and spoiled bottle baby, Pop Tart "earned" her name after her fondness for licking the frosting from offered pastries was discovered by the Kowaliks. Her pedigree represents a oft-repeated (and very successful) Lost Valley crossing of Bay Watch++*S and Kingwood++*S lines. A wide, powerful, and correct junior doe, Pop Tart is also as sweet as the treat she is named for! Given her genetics, we anticipate a beautiful first freshening udder in the spring of 2009. Photos at Age 2.5 Years. |

DAM: LOST VALLEY KW HOLLYWOOD 3*D DS: Gay-Mor's RA Kingwood++*S (Stonewall's Raising Arizona++S x ARMCH Goodwood Trillium 2*D "E") DD: Lost Valley Felicity 2*D (MCH Goodwood Tahoe+*S x 4S Samantha*D)
2/13/06 (Twin)
Pop Tart is the product of a cross that has worked quite well at Lost Valley: the genetics of Bay Watch++*S "E" combined with those of Kingwood++*S. Her dam, Hollywood, is a favorite of the Kowaliks and has a capacious udder with very secure attachments. Structurally, Pop Tart is a very correct and powerful doe (we would just like to see tighter front toes!) with an arching escutcheon. We really like to contemplate Pop Tart's potential contributions to our herd, and look forward to her first kids in 2009.
2009 BREEDING PLANS: Pop Tart will be bred to Piddlin Acres PM Bootstraps. He is a very refined, long bodied, dairy buck whom we expect to cross well with the power and width of Poptart. This breeding also picks up the Kingwood and Bay Watch genetics shared by both pedigrees.

| FLAT ROCKS PECAN TASSIE (Flat Rocks Gem x Flat Rocks Nutter Butter)--DOB: 2/06--Fondly known as "Pig Pig"--a favorite kids' book character--because of her petite size and incredible appetite, this little girl combines the genetics of Flat Rocks Flash+S "E" with those of Gem. She is very broad and flat over the topline as well as wide in the chest and escutcheon. Because of her absolutely endearing "in your face" personality, Pig Pig is one of our very favorite juniors. |
|
|
 |
| Photo at 2.5 Years. What a surprise we received when we clipped Pig Pig! We had always guessed that there was a princess under the heft and here she is, all grown up. Pig Pig is angular and very, very dairy with a tight front end, a long neck and high withers, a level topline, lots of width...faultwise, she could use a bit more length of leg for better balance. But, we think she's beautiful and we look forward to her 2009 kids. |

SIRE: FLAT ROCKS GEM SS: Flat Rocks Mighty Fine (Flat Rocks Mighty Mike x Willow Creek Amaretto) SD: MCH Flat Rocks Surprise*D (Goodwood Alamo Messenger++S x Willows Bonehead)
DAM: FLAT ROCKS NUTTER BUTTER DS: Flat Rocks Flash+S "E" (Flat Rocks Mighty Mike x MCH Flat Rocks Surprise*D) DD: Flat Rocks Magic Middle (Goodwood Nelson x Willows Miss Molly)
2/27/06 (Twin)
Oh, we just love the personality of this petite, rotund girl! Ever since her arrival, Pig Pig has been our natural antidepressant: affectionate and funny at the same time. She is also wonderful with all of our baby goats, tolerating their play with nary a butt or nip. And finally, Pig Pig is loyal...In spite her short stature and naturally gentle nature, she has been like a "she bear" in the protection her very best friend, NC PromisedLand SS Sapphire, from the politics of the herd order.
Her wonderful disposition aside, Pig Pig brings very nice genetics and conformational strengths to the Dawn Land herd. She is a Gem daughter--the most consistent herdsire used at Flat Rocks--out of a Flash daughter, so she is linebred on MCH Flat Rocks Surprise*D through her two most influential sons. Pig Pig's dam recently died of old age, but was kidding and maintaining a securely attached udder into her tenth year. We love the longetivity potential here too! Pig Pig is a tiny girl in height, the smallest of our does in fact, with a flat topline, width front and back, correct front legs, and huge well-placed teats.
2009 BREEDING PLANS: We had originally planned to keep Pig Pig as a pet, given her exceptional temperament. However, her strengths prompt us to rethink that decision...No official service sire yet, but Pig Pig MAY be bred for kids sometime in 2009--probably to Fairlea Jamie Fraser for a loose linebreeding on Flat Rocks Gem; we hope that he will pass on stature and udder capacity.

DAWNLAND TE FLORENTINA ROSE
|
 |
| DAWNLAND TE FLORENTINA ROSE (NC PromisedLand HS Tiger's Eye x Stonewall's Mona Lisa)--DOB: 3/06--Flora has garnered the nickname of "Tank", with good reason. She is a very broad and solid doe with exceptional escutcheon width. Being a single kid born to an extremely productive dam--ah, those old Stonewall lines!--Flora has grown very well. In this photo taken at age four months, Flora has a "milk goiter" (a nonpathological swelling of the thymus gland under her chin) from her extraordinary intake of rich milk. Milk goiters disappear with maturation, so we expect that we will be able to appreciate Flora's long neck and beautiful brisket in the near future. |

Consistent with both sides of her pedigree, Flora is maturing into a typical New England Stonewall doe, wide and powerful. More than a decade ago, Stonewall Farm worked with some of the earliest ND lines in the country and their breeding program was very influential in producing sturdy, long-lived, high milking animals with beautiful udders. We have hopes that Flora will continue that farm's excellence when she freshens in 2008.
2009 BREEDING PLANS: We did not get around to breeding Flora for 2008, but intend to keep our plans the same: she will be bred to Flat Rocks Gatorade, a linebreeding on both MCH HBF Luckey Strike+S "E" and MCH Flat Rocks Surprise*D "E". We think Gator's sharpness will balance Flora's conformational strengths--she's matured into a beautiful doe with width, flatness of topline and refinement of bone--perfectly.

FLAT ROCKS GOLDEN BERYL--Polled

 |
| FLAT ROCKS GOLDEN BERYL--POLLED! (Flat Rocks Gem x HBF LS Sunflower)--DOB: 4/06--"Goldie" is a full sibling to our beloved Snicket. She arrived with our surprise junior buck, Gatorade, from Flat Rocks--many thanks to Sunni for her generosity. Goldie is very refined and dairy, with a great deal of body capacity. She is also sweet, sweet, sweet. Photo at Age Two Years. |

Being the product of a breeding that produced our beloved Snicket in 2005--see his story at the bottom of our main "Sales" page--as well as a gift from Sunni, Goldie is very special to us. She has matured beautifully, and is a long, angular, and elegant junior doe with a quiet and gentle personality. Genetically, she shows lots of promise too, being a daughter of the late Gem, who produced many stunning daughters (and udders!), and of HBF Sunflower, littermate sister to MCH Clementine at Twin Creeks.
2009 BREEDING PLANS: Goldie will be bred to Twin Creeks BW Sudden Sea*S, for a crossing of potent Texas milk and show lines. This is a linebreeding on MCH Flat Rocks Surprise*D through her two finest sons, Gem and Flash. We expect excellence in attachments from Goldie coupled with capacity and production from Sea. We also like knowing that Goldie's kids may be polled.

| LOST VALLEY TB CHECOTAH (MCH Lost Valley Tae-Bo+*S "E" (91.4) x MCH/CH Lost Valley Sundancer 2*D "E" (91.6)--DOB: 8/06--Due to the vagaries of winter weather and shipping, we had to wait a bit for Checotah, who was reserved prior to her birth. She was well worth the wait, as can be seen by her yearling photo. Checotah's pedigree is full of successful show animals and productive milkers and also contains many of the lines we have been working with for several years. Another doeling for whom we have great expectations! Checotah's style, correct conformation, and wide escutcheon have earned her recognition in the show ring, where she has placed first and second in large classes. Photo at Age One Year. |

Checotah is the product of the pairing of two of Lost Valley's most stellar animals, and we think she has it all: pedigree, good looks, and breeding potential (her littermate brother at Twin Creeks is siring beautiful kids!) Checotah's dam is a very productive milker who has six Best Udder awards to her credit, as well as eight GCH's, and her sire is similarly blessed with both show wins and high-milking female forebears. Many of Checotah's ancestors are closely related to our Rosasharn Tom's Water Tabby*S lines, so it will be interesting to see how both she and her offspring cross with our genetics.
2009 BREEDING PLANS: Unfortunately, Checotah remained open for 2008. She will be bred to Dawnland Tabby's Halifax "E" for early spring kids, picking up the Kingwood++*S and Chalktaw*D genetics carried by both pedigrees. We will retain a doe, and hopefully a buck too.

Things are finally looking up for poor Tessie, who has spent her first year bouncing from one awkward growth stage into another, truly the proverbial "Ugly Duckling"! As we enter the 2007 winter season, she's much better balanced overall and is starting to show the dairiness and refinement suggested by her pedigree. Tessie has two stunning parents, both finished champions and both ADGA linear appraised as "Excellent", so the potential is there for Tessie too. Tessie's dam is now nine, still holding up her beautifully attached udder, still kidding productively, AND still milking well too: 3.6 (6.4% BF) pounds produced on her most recent One Day Test in autumn 2007.
2009 BREEDING PLANS: Tessie will be paired with Flat Rocks Gatorade, for a linebreeding on MCH Flat Rocks Surprise*D, through her best known sons, Flash (Tessie's dam's lines) and Gem (Gator).
